Through online research I've determined that my Tata Indica 1.4 LXi could possibly have a OBD-II connector in it and use the ISO9141 porotcol. I'd just like to confirm this and find out where the connector is located in the car.

The reason I'm looking for this information is because my car is having problems but I don't have the time to go to the service centres during the week and they're closed over weekends. The car doesn't want to idle on a cold start and it seems to be a degenerative symptom. The "Check Engine" light goes on every now and then as well. I suspect that it's just a leak in the air intake that prevents a vacuum from forming during idling.

Any information regarding the problem or the OBD connection would be appreciated.

Wish I could help you but I am not familiar with the models outside of the Nano for now.

OBD-II confirmed and ISO9141 confirmed. The OBD plug is located beneath the passenger seat. Pins containing connectors are 4,5,7 and 16. Apparently 15 is an optional pin connector for L-something. I'm getting a Galletto 1260 unit this afternoon to test with. I'll let you know if I'm successful.

The ELM327 allows you to turn your computer into an Auto Diagnostic System. This is all you need other than your car, the free software & your computer. Non-free software is also available. See the 'ELM buying guide' link below.
